Dude, WolfQuest is out.
The new year is upon us. Well, unless you’re living in China. But honestly, what are the odds of that? Hm…
People deserve unfettered access to information.
There, thanks to the efforts of hardworking American corporations like Cisco, the Great Chinese Firewall should block this site in no-time. Now none of us will have to worry about the new year not taking place on the first of January. JUST LIKE GOD INTENDED IT.
Anyway, WolfQuest, the most accurate online multiplayer wolf simulation game ever, has had its first public release go live. The game also features a singleplayer mode where you must follow scent trails, find a mate and, as the website suggestively phrases it, “establish a bond.” The game has the player traversing massive landscapes and (if you don’t want to be spoiled STOP READING HERE) defeating the powerful bull elk.
You can download WolfQuest: Amethyst Mountain for free from the WolfQuest website. The game officially supports both Mac OSX and Windows XP . The Window’s .msi file will not install properly under Wine (the Windows interpreter for Linux) or, apparently, Windows Vista. I’m unable to confirm Linux compatibility as the provided alternative .zip file is currently downloading at speeds that make me envy the days of the 28 baud modem. That’s right, I yearn for the days when bandwith was measured in bauds.
Because of the poor download speeds, why not spend your waiting time watching the first WolfQuest promotional video released a few months back?
Awesome. Simply Awesome.
Anyway, hope to see everyone reading this playing the game soon! I’ll be the one pissing on everything.
