Breaking: Zelda timeline still unsuccessfully explained
Not content with just simply being angry at his games, The Angry Videogame Nerd has accepted the most daunting of tasks: trying to explain the chronology of the Legend of Zelda franchise. So unbelievably complex it inspires whole new emotions beyond the realms of conventional hate, the Zelda series is essentially an unsolvable puzzle. Any attempt to truly correlate the histories of various Hyrules will lead only to one path: madness!
The Nerd does an admirable job though, even if he does get a little too hung up on game subtitles. Also, the video doesn’t mention the most commonly accepted theory to where the Wind Waker and Twilight Princess fit into the timeline: alternate futures! Yes folks, we’re approaching Back to the Future levels of confusing chronologies. See, the Wind Waker is set in the future of the Link that was sent back to relive his childhood in Ocarina of Time. The Twilight Princess is set in the future of the Link that defeated Ganon at the end of the Ocarina of Time. Simple, right? Right?!
I’m pretty sure I just became a virgin again because of that explanation. Do you want to reclaim your innocence too? Why not read up the history of Hyrule at Zelda Universe, it is much cheaper than the surgical alternatives.
