Get out the prayer rugs: first Sonic RPG info
First announced back in the Summer of 2007, Untitled Sonic RPG from BioWare has finally received some critical updates in the ways of both name and content from the most recent issue of Nintendo Power. Now officially titled Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, the game will apparently focus on Sonic’s quest to rescue the enchinapped Knuckles and reclaim the 6 stolen chaos emeralds. Some other key features include: entirely stylus driven controls, hand drawn “water color” style graphics, 11 potential party members, remixed classic Sonic music, and a simplified dialogue-tree system ala Mass Effect.
While the game is certainly in capable hands, Sonic still hasn’t proven itself as a franchise capable of Mario-esque flexibility. Hopefully, when the game is released sometime before the end of the year, this will prove the beginning of Sonic’s upswing.
