North American Virtual Console Update (02/04/08)
Look, if Nintendo isn’t going to put any effort in these things, neither am I.
Columns III from the Genesis (800 Wii points) and Operation: Wolf from the NES (500 points) join the increasingly less exciting roster of latest additions up for download.
How about some awesome Virtual Console rumors to tide you over? Current rumor has it that the original Super Smash Bros, from the N64, will hit the VC servers before the release Brawl. This rumor makes way too much sense to not be true, so ready at least 1,000 Wii points for the inevitable. The other rumors? Well, thanks to recent announcement of Super Smash Bros Brawl’s Masterpieces mode, some are taking the small leap and betting on an Earthbound release sometime before Brawl hits. Also spawning from Masterpiece mode is the rumor that Nintendo may localize the original NES Fire Emblems. This one is probably not going to happen, unfortunately. So, from those two rumors, ready another 800 points.
And, finally, here is my own rumor: one of the only Shigeru Miyamoto games not released in America, Devil World, will see an international release soon, also thanks to its lead appearing as an assist trophy in Brawl. Don’t ready any points for this one, this probably isn’t happening. Side note: the other Miyamoto game left unreleased in America is Doshin the Giant. No, I will not start a rumor about the original, N64DD version of Doshin, making an appearance on the Virtual Console. I will not do this.
