Babel Fish: No More Heroes sells 10 ten thousand!
Punk rock videogame darling, No More Heroes, has sold out man! No, it hasn’t become popular enough yet to no longer be considered counterculture and underground, but at this rate we may have to “upgrade” its status to indie-emo-rock. I’ll let the Japanese publisher explain it via a babel fish translation:
Yesterday for Wii had the launch party of software “NO MORE HEROES”. In the country still shipment 4 ten thousand is, but in America being the cell through already, 10 ten thousand these breaking, in Europe directing to March sale, the incoming order 16 ten thousand has gotten together. 50 ten thousand these shipments with world wide we would like to achieve absolutely.
Okay, let me translate that translation for you, note: this translation is both more and less accurate than the original Japanese statement:
Yesterday we held a launch party for our game, “NO MORE HEOES.” In Japan, we have still only shipped 40 thousand copies, but in America we have sold through our initial shipment, breaking the 100 thousand mark! In Europe, where the game will go on sale late February/early March, we have already gotten 160 thousand preorders! We now feel that 500 thousand units world wide is absolutely achievable.
Way to go Travis! No More Heroes is certainly doing well for itself and has already become one of Suda51’s best selling games. As if my personal recommendation isn’t enough, the game has also garnered great scores from great journalists like the UK’s Edge magazine. So, you should, like you know, go buy it right now.
Is it still considered corporate shilling if the product is punk rock?
