Student made DS games to temporarily hit Japan
Nintendo’s love of its homeland continues unabated as word has slipped out that, starting March 13th, the company will be releasing free, student made DS games via their download kiosks. Developed over a year ago, the games will be made available for only two weeks until they are replaced with another demo. After the two months have run their course, it is unknown what will happen to the games.
The first game to go up is Nan de Momo Koko Yasan, a coloring game. This will be followed with Wakeari no Heya Tsuzuki (pictured right), a horror adventure game reminiscent of Hotel Dusk. The following month will include Kiki Master, a “conversation” game, and Watashi no Otochabako, a game with gameplay so cryptic it must border on the absurd.
There are currently no plans to bring these games to anywhere outside of Japan, so you’ll probably have to wait for one of these demos to be made into a full game and then translated if you want to try them.
