Korg, not just for keyboards anymore!

In an attempt to cash in on the increasingly lucrative Nintendo DS music-making genre, AQ Interactive has announced that it will be producing software that emulates the sounds of popular Korg brand synthesizers. Titled Korg DS-10, the software is currently only scheduled for a Japanese release. However, with the DS being region-free, the worst case scenario will be that you have to import it. The software will run 4,800 Yen, or roughly 46 U.S. dollars, when it is released in July.

Korg DS-10 is definitely for the serious musician. To that end, there is no “game” packed on the DS cart. But thankfully, the developers appear to be very focused on properly representing the Korg synthesizer. The software will feature a 6 track sequencer, a drum machine, and a number of popular sound effects like flange, delay, and chorus. Suffice to say, even at this stage, it is clear that Korg DS-10 can produce some pretty impressive music, evidenced by the sample AQ Interactive has up on its website.

Still, somehow, not impressed? Well, watch this video:

Yeah, that shut up your “not-impressed-by-Korg DS-10” mouth, didn’t it?
