In Brief: News too small to separate (03/20/08)

IkarugaInstead of trying to flesh out little tidbits of information into sprawling tomes, let’s just cut to the chase. Here are some stories that are making the rounds on these here tubes:

(1) Siliconera is reporting that Space Invaders Get Even, a retro-inspired real-time-strategy game made for Wii, will include support for Nintendo’s Wifi connection. To what end? Currently unknown, but expect online leaderboards and pray for multiplayer.

(2) If Battle Rage: The Robot Wars were being published by anyone else, it would easily earn the right to be a separate story. However, coming from publisher Data Design Interactive, a company whose previous work includes Ninjabread Man, Anubis II, and Rock N’ Roll Adventures, three games that are, in actuality, carbon copies of one another with slightly reworked graphics, an announcement of any kind should be met with some trepidation. While the original PC version of the game looks like it was competently developed, you should probably keep your skeptic hats on. Though not completely damning, it certainly doesn’t help that the official press release misspelled the word “Triangle.”

(3) MyGamerCard, via Kotaku, is spilling the beans on the Xbox 360 Achievements list for the upcoming Xbox Live Arcade port of Ikaruga. Considering how difficult this game inherently is, these could very well be the most difficult achievements ever conceived.

House keeping notice: this post will be bumped whenever more tiny funsize pieces of information spring up.
